Originally established in 1985 as Stratford Timber and Hammer Hardware Aluminium Division. In 1994 Brian purchased the business and changed the name to Central Aluminium. At the beginning of 2015 it was decided to rebrand the company as Central Windows and Doors.
Proudly supplying the VANTAGE range of windows and doors - including VANTAGE Residential, METRO SERIES, APL ARCHITECTURAL SERIES and the Commercial. Thermally efficient ThermalHEART windows and doors are also available in two categories (VANTAGE Residential and METRO SERIES).
VANTAGE has the backing of APL | Architectural Profiles Limited, the supplier of the VANTAGE system.

BRAIN HARDGRAVE
Leaving school at the age of 14 and serving a building apprenticeship in Wellington, I moved up to the Naki in 1987. I started out in Stratford working for a building company known as Jeffare Bros and soon took over managing the aluminium division. In 1994 I was given, and grabbed the opportunity of purchasing the business and reinvented as Central Aluminium.
Well known in the community due my sporting interests, among them rugby and cricket, I now spend a lot of my spare time playing both outdoor and indoor bowls.
Having a great knowledge of the local area combined with my aluminium joinery and building experience, I can help you to ensure that you are getting the correct product for the right situation.

BRENDA HARDGRAVE
I first met Brian in 2005, was living in Wanganui and running a fulltime practise as a Massage Therapist and knew nothing about the aluminium joinery industry. After moving up to Stratford I became more involved in the aluminium business and eventually took over the managing of all the office work and more recently the flow of production in the factory.
Our next step within the business is to engage ‘Lean Manufacturing’ which will be right up my alley as I love being organised and having little clutter.
My spare time I spend time in our garden or with family.
